About the Form
Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW), Patiala invites online applications for 225 Act Apprentice posts for training year 2025-26 under Apprentices Act, 1961. Apprentices will receive practical training in various locomotive related trades. This engagement is for training only and does not guarantee employment. Selection is merit-based on 10th and ITI marks. Candidates must be Indian citizens and medically fit.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum qualification for most trades is 10th pass with 50% marks and ITI pass from an NCVT/SCVT recognized institute. For Welder trade, 8th pass with ITI pass is acceptable. Age limit is 15 to 22 years for Welder and 15 to 24 years for other trades with applicable age relaxations.
Application Fee Details
Application fee for General, OBC, and EWS candidates is ₹100. SC, ST, PwBD and Female candidates are exempted from fee payment. Payment can be made via Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking.

Selection Process
Selection is merit-based on marks obtained in 10th class and ITI exams. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Final apprenticeship offer is given after verification and medical fitness. No written exam or interview is conducted as per current notification.
Stipend Details
Stipend will be paid as per Apprentices Act, 1961 and Railway Board instructions. It typically ranges from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 11,040 per month depending on year of training. No extra allowances are provided.
