Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has announced the recruitment for 64 Havildar Clerk positions in the Bihar Home Guard. Eligibility Criteria including Qualification and Age
Applicants should have passed 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board by 01 August 2025. Age requirements vary by category: General male candidates should be between 18-37 years; General/EWS females and BC/EBC candidates have an upper age limit of 40 years. SC/ST candidates get relaxation up to 42 years. Government servants with minimum 3 years of service enjoy an additional 5-year age relaxation.
Physical standards including height, chest measurements (for males), and weight (for females) are strictly enforced and must be fulfilled to qualify for physical tests.

A total of 64 posts are available, distributed across categories as follows: 26 for Unreserved (including 9 women), 11 for Extremely Backward Class (4 women), 6 for Economically Weaker Section (2 women), 8 for Backward Class (3 women), 10 for Scheduled Caste (4 women), and 1 for Scheduled Tribe. Women's reservation stands at approximately 35% across categories ensuring ample opportunities for female candidates.
Selection Procedure and Examination Pattern
The selection is carried out in three stages consisting of a written examination, Physical Standard Test (PST), and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by document verification. The written exam is objective type with 100 questions on subjects including Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, and General Knowledge & Current Affairs. Candidates must score at least 30% marks to qualify for the physical tests.
Physical tests involve running, high jump, and shot put with minimum qualifying parameters differing by gender and category. Candidates must clear each physical event separately and will get a maximum of three attempts for jump and shot put. Failure in any event results in disqualification.

Multiple payments for the same application are discouraged as only the first transaction will be considered valid. Salary Structure and Benefits
The Havildar Clerk position is classified under Level-4 in the 7th Pay Commission with a basic pay range between ₹25,500 and ₹81,100. Besides basic pay, candidates will receive various allowances such as Dearness Allowance (approx. 28-32%), House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, Uniform and Medical Allowances, ensuring a competitive and comprehensive pay package.
