The Bihar State Police Commission (BPSSC) has released a notification for job opening to the Posts of Sub-Inspector Prohibition. Total Seats under this vacancy is 28.

The selection procedure consists of the following stages:

1.Written Examination (Preliminary Examination & Main Examination)

2.Physical Standards Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

3.Merit List Preparation & Final Selection

1. Written Examination :

Preliminary Examination :

• The Preliminary Examination consists of one paper with 100 questions.
• Each question carries 2 marks.
• The total marks for the Preliminary Examination are 200 marks.
• The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
• Subjects covered include General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
• Candidates must score at least 30% marks to qualify for the Main Examination.

Main Examination :

• The Main Examination consists of two papers.

Paper 1:

• Language-based test in General Hindi.
• The total marks for Paper 1 are 200 marks.
• There are 100 questions, and the duration of the exam is 2 hours.
• Candidates must score at least 30% marks in Paper 1 to be considered for merit ranking.

Paper 2:

• Covers General Studies, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Geography, Mathematics, and Mental Ability Test.
• The total marks for Paper 2 are 200 marks.
• There are 100 questions, and the duration of the exam is 2 hours.

Negative Marking: 0.2 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Merit List Criteria:

• Based on Paper 2 marks.
• Candidates who qualify in the written exam (Main Exam) will proceed to the Physical Tests.

2. Physical Standards Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) :

Candidates must qualify in the following Physical Efficiency Tests:

• Candidates must qualify in each test to be considered for further selection.
• A maximum of three attempts will be given in the high jump, long jump, and shot put.
• Failing to meet any standard will result in disqualification.

3. Merit List Preparation & Final Selection :

The merit list will be prepared based on Main Exam scores (Paper 2 only) and Physical Tests performance.

The final recommendation for appointment will be sent to the Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) for approval.

Pay Scale : ( Level -6 ) as per 7th CPC.
