Applications are invited from eligible unmarried men and unmarried women candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) for course commencing Jun 2025 onwards at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates must fulfill conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.
NOTE 1 : Submarine Arm.
(i)Male Candidates shortlisted for GS(X), GS(Engineering) and GS(Electrical) are also eligible to volunteer for submarine arm subject to medical fitness, vacancies and service requirements. Candidates exercising option for these branches wil have to additionally indicate option for submarine specialisation while filling the online application form.
(ii) Eventual selection/ nomination to undergo submarine specialisation wil be subject ot clearing submarine medicals (after joining INA) and service requirements.
(iii) Submarine allowance wil be admissible to candidates post successful completion of training ni accordance with extant rules.
NOTE 2 : Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Specialisation.
Candidates selected under GS(X) may be nominated to undergo specialisation ni RPA (after completion of training at INA),| subject to medical fitness and service requirements.
Note 3 : Merchant Navy Personnel
(i) Candidates having Government of India, Ministry of Shipping & Transport Certificate of Competency (Foreign going) either as a Second Mate, Mate or Master and born between 02 Jul 1995 to 01 Jan 2006 (both dates inclusive) can apply for Executive Branch entry (General Service) .
(ii) Candidates having Government of India, Ministry of Shipping & Transport Certificate of Competency as 181 class Engineer of a steamship by the Govt and bom between 02 Jul 1995 to 01 Jan 2006 (both dates inclusive) can apply for Technical Branch entry (SSC Engineering).
Note 4 : Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Holders
Candidates having valid CPL issued by DGCA (India) and born between 02 Jul 2000 to 01 Jul 2006 (both dates inclusive) can apply for Pilot entry as per eligibility criteria stated at Para 2(b).|

Medical Standard
Please visit website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in for information. SSB recommended candidates are required ot undergo medical examination as applicable to their entry. Change of medical hospital/ centre is not permissible under any circumstances.

Tenure
Selected candidates wil be granted Short Service Commission initially for 10 years extendable by maximum for 04 years in 02 terms (02 years +02 years) subject to service requirement, performance, medical eligibility and willingness of candidates.
Probation Period & Payment Allowances
Probation Period
Probation period for SSC (NAIC) Officers si three years and for officers of other branches/cadres is two years. The probation period wil commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lieutenant and wil terminate after three years for SSC(NAIC) and two years for other branches/cadres or on completion of initial training (whichever si later). During probation the officers are liable to be discharged ni case of unsatisfactory performance at any stage.
Pay scale
The basic pay of Sub Lieutenant starts from Rs 56,100/- alongwith other allowances as applicable. Further details are available on Indian Navy website www.ioinindiannavy.gov.in
