Online Applications are invited as per Eligibility and Conditions prescribed for the post from eligible candidates to fill up the 15 (Fifteen) vacancies to the post of District Judges from the Bar in the pay scale of Rs. 144840-194860 [Level-J-5].

Selection Procedure and Exam Pattern for Jharkhand District Judge Vacancy 2024
Selection Procedure Consists of 3 Phases :-
(I) Preliminary Entrance Test .
(II) Main Examination.
(III) Viva-Voce Test/ Interview .
(I) Preliminary Entrance Test .
Total Score - 100 Marks .
Total Duration - 2 Hours .
Negative Marking :- (-1 )mark (minus one) for each wrong answer.
The Preliminary Entrance Test shall consist of :-
i. General English
ii. General Knowledge (including Current Affairs).
iii. C.P.C.
iv. Cr.P.C. and Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023
v. Evidence Act and Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.
vi. Law of Contract.
vii. IPC and Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023
(II) Main Examination.
Total shift - 2 shifts ( Two sitting) .
Total duration- 3 hours for each paper .
The Main Examination shall consist of :-
Paper – I
Part – I Language (English) - 50 Marks (Essay, Précis, Preposition and Comprehension etc.)
Part – II - 50 Marks
(i) Procedural Law (C.P.C., Cr.P.C. & Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023)
(ii) Law of Evidence (Indian Evidence Act & Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023)
(iii) Law of Limitation
Paper – II
Substantive Law - 100 Marks
(i) Constitution of India
(ii) Indian Penal Code and Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023
(iii) Law of Contract
(iv) Sale of Goods Act
(v) Transfer of Property Act
(vi) Negotiable Instrument Act
(vii) Law relating to Motor Vehicle Accident Claim
(viii) Jurisprudence.
(ix) Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act
(x) Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act
(xi) Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (pocso)
(xii) Prevention of Corruption Act
(xiii) SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989
(xiv) Electricity Act, 2003
(xv) Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act)
(III) Viva-Voce Test/ Interview .
Total Score of viva -Voce Test :- 40 marks.
The marks obtained in Viva-Voce Test shall be added to the marks obtained in Main Examinationand the merit list shall be prepared accordingly.
No candidate irrespective of the marks obtained by him in the Main Examination shall be eligiblefor selection for appointment, if he/she obtains less than 30% marks in the Viva-Voce Test.
Note:- Every differently abled candidate will be allowed “compensatory time” of 20 minutes for each hour of written examination

Each candidate should submit his/her application through the official website of High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi i.e. www.jharkhandhighcourt.nic.in.

Self attested copies of the some certificates, are required to be uploaded with the application form:- (Some of them are listed below .)
(I) Enrolment certificate under the Advocates Act, 1961.
(II) Certificate of Experience at the Bar.
Note: Certificate of Experience at the Bar shall be obtained either from the Registrar General of the High Court if the applicant is practicing in the High Court or from Principal District Judge or Chief Judicial Magistrate of the District if the applicant is practicing in Court other than the High Court, or from the President and the Secretary of the Bar Association, jointly signed by both of them and duly counter-signed by the Registrar General of the High Court or the Principal District Judge/Chief Judicial Magistrate of the District, as the case may be.
In case of the candidate is differently abled, a Certificate issued by the Medical Board to this effect be uploaded.
