PAY SCALE (Assistant Commandant) : Pay Level -10 and Starting Basic Pay Rs.56,100/-

Selection Procedure and Exam Pattern of Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Recruitment 2024 (2026 Batch)

Selection Procedure Involves following stages :-

 

(a) Stage-I {Coast Guard Common Admission Test(CGCAT)}

(b) Stage-II {Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)}

(c) Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB)

(d) Stage-IV (Medical Examination)

(e) Stage-V (Induction)

 

Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG.

 

(a) Stage-I {Coast Guard Common Admission Test(CGCAT)}Candidates for all branches shall appear in computer based online screening test known as CGCAT. The test will be conducted in designated centres located all over India.

 

Total questions - 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ)

 

Marking: Four marks for each correct answer.

Negative Marking : One negative mark  for each incorrect answer. 

 

Medium of test paper will be English.

 

Subject wise distribution of marks is as follows:-

(b) Stage-II {Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)}: Based on the performance in the Stage-I, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Stage-II (PSB).

Candidates are to give their choice for PSB centre at the time of filling of application form.

 

Candidates will be screened through a Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).

 

The CCBT will be in English only and will be of objective type. During PP&DT the candidates are expected to speak and discuss in English, Hindi or combination of both.

 

The Stage-II examination is only of qualifying nature i.e. either Pass or Fail.

 

(c) Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB): The candidates qualifying for Stage-III will be intimated on completion of stage-II at respective centres. The schedule of Stage-III will be intimated to the candidate on personal Login IDs. FSB is conducted at the Coast Guard Selection Board (CGSB) located at Noida and spans over five days.

 

The candidates are subjected to Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview (Personality test).

 

All documents/certificates verified during PSB are also required to be produced in originals during FSB. Board conference is held on last day and thereafter recommended candidates are sent for Stage-IV i.e. initial/special medical examination.

 

(d) Stage-IV (Medical Examination): The candidates who clear Stage-III are required to undergo a special medical examination at Base Hospital, New Delhi. 


(e) Stage-V (Induction): The candidates who clear Stage - IV and stand in All India Merit List as per the vacancies available will be provisionally selected for training and will be required to report at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala for Naval Orientation Course (NOC) as per the instructions.

 

All India Merit List will be based on combined marks of Stage-I and Stage-III.

 

Result DeclarationThe result of the online examination at Stage-I will be announced tentatively within 30 days on ICG website. 

How to Apply for Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Recruitment 2024 (2026 Batch)

Candidates can apply for online application through Coast Guard recruitment website https://joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in

 

Multi options entry scheme : Candidates who fulfill eligibility criteria for both General Duty branch and Technical branches as mentioned in Para ‘2’ may apply for both the branches indicating Option-I and Option-II. During processing of Stage-I result and shortlisting for Stage-II (PSB), candidates will be considered only in the branch of their first preference.

 

Documents to be uploaded in the application: The candidates will be required to upload documents in two phases. Few documents are required during the initial online application stage and few are required to be uploaded after shortlisted for Stage-II. The candidates are to scan the original documents (neither photocopy nor self-attested photocopy is to be scanned) as applicable for the post applied and upload in the online application.

 

Compulsory documents to be uploaded by all candidates during initial online application for Stage-I: (Crucial Points of all)

 1. Coloured Photograph :-  Passport size recent colour photograph taken not before June 2024 (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photographs is to be taken without spectacles with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.

 

2. Live Image Capture during Registration – The candidate has also to upload the latest photograph during registration. Additionally, live image of the candidate will be captured during the registration. The facial features of the candidate in the uploaded photo will be matched against the Real-time photo. The candidate will be able to submit the application, only in case of photo match. Live image will be captured in every subsequent stage and compared.

 

3. Candidate’s scanned signature image.

 

4.Scanned clear Left and Right Thumb impressions image.
